SEO SEM is the most commonly used term in the field of Search Engine Optimization, which refers to the process of enhancing the volume and quality of site traffic from search engines. SEO aims at unpaid traffic and not organic or paid traffic. This article will discuss the various techniques used for SEO.

Search engine optimization (SEO) means paid search engine optimization, which is also called PPC or pay per click. Paid search is paid marketing where the advertiser pays for every visitor that he receives from his ad. The most prominent example of this is Google AdWords, which is one of the biggest pay per click programs on the internet today. On the other hand, organic search engine optimization (SEO) means unpaid search engine optimization where the surfer does not have to pay anything to be advertised.

In SEO, there are two main types: paid and free. Paid SEM involves pay-per-click (PPC) and paid link exchange. Paid link exchange is the exchange of links between two sites, which can be either related to each other or not. On the other hand, paid SEM generally refers to article marketing and paid search marketing.

As we all know, Google and other search engines offer free SEM services to their users. However, these SEMs (paid listings) have limited control over the relevancy of the content and therefore, they are mostly used for marketing. In some countries, paid SEM is not allowed because the government considers it as an attempt to fool the customers. In other countries, the use of free listings is much more preferred, because these SEMs are not only cheaper, but they have a much wider reach.

Wikipedia defines SEO as “Search engine marketing and online advertising”. This is an umbrella term, which may apply to various online marketing processes and techniques. However, it is clear that SEM encompasses different strategies, such as pay per click, link building, and content optimization. The umbrella term SEO SEM helps to describe the entire concept of SEO, and help Internet users understand the workings of SEM more easily.
